2. Do pellet smokers produce enough smoke?

Most people say cooking on a pellet grill produces just the right amount of smoke flavour in their food. Thanks to their pure hardwood sawdust composition and the fan-forced air inside of pellet grills, wood pellets are designed to completely combust, resulting in subtle smokiness with no bitter creosote flavour. In short, it’s almost impossible to over-smoke food on a pellet grill. With the right knowledge of different pellets and combinations of pellets gives flexibility on achieving the smoke profile you are looking for E.G deep and rich or sweet and smokey.

 

3. How often should I clean my grill?

Ideally, you should clean your grill grate after each use. This will help ensure that any substances spilled and/or residual grease are removed. Beyond a basic cleaning each time you use the grill, you’ll also want to vacuum out ash at least every two to three cooking sessions and deep-clean the grill two or three times each year. Change the foil on the grill’s drip tray and empty the drip bucket on an as-needed basis.

 

4. How long can you store pellets?

The longevity of wood pellets depends greatly on the humidity of their storage area. While in areas with high humidity, pellets can be stored for about 3 months, in dry areas, the duration increases by double. You can store them for 6 months without any worry. You must store the pellets in an airtight bucket or container to keep them in good shape.

 

5. Are pellets good for smoking?

Yes! In fact, this is what the vast majority of them are best at. There’s a reason all major flavours of smoking woods also exist as pellets. All you have to do to smoke on a pellet grill is set the temperature controller to 225–250 degrees Fahrenheit and treat your food as you would in any other smoker. Pellets without binders, chemicals, liquid flavourings and that are virgin hardwoods are what you should be using for the best results.
